Thousands of trucks and about $500 million in trade passes daily across the United States-Canada border, so it can be a long and frustrating task when drivers are not prepared. This course takes drivers through the steps in preparing themselves, the cargo and the vehicle for a successful trip. After completion, participants will be able to:
- Explain the responsibilities when crossing the border with commercial freight
- List personal identification and documentation needed when crossing the border
- Describe the benefits of a FAST card and how to maintain it properly
- Describe pre-clearance programs used at the border
- List the best practices to follow when approaching the border, when speaking with border officials, and after clearance
