This course provides an overview of the Hours of Service Regulations and the logbook exemption for drivers who operate within a 160 km radius of their home terminal. Driver and carrier responsibilities under the exemption will be outlined, as well as how to accurately record duty information. After completion, participants will be able to:
- List the criteria that exempt drivers from using an ELD
- Describe your responsibilities under the 160 km radius exemption
- Record daily duty status as per the Hours of Service regulations
- Define the two duty cycles and calculate available hours
- Use Remarks, edits, and annotations when appropriate
