This module covers how to effectively plan ahead for any trip and maximize driving time as well as explaining the signs of fatigue. In addition, the requirements for inspections under National Safety Code Standard 13 in Canada and Part 396: Inspection, Repair and Maintenance in the United States will be reviewed. After completion, participants will be able to:
- List some of the things you can do to plan for a trip
- Explain how drivers are protected from harassment and coercion
- Explain the responsibilities of the driver and carrier regarding pre-trip inspections
- Identify the information that must be included in an inspection report
- Describe the reporting requirements for the driver, carrier and others involved in pre-trip inspections
