This course details the special requirements needed to transport one or more metal coils with a combined weight of 5000 lb. (2268 kg) or more on a flatbed trailer. After completion, participants will be able to:
- Explain when metal coils must be secured using the Special Requirement
- Explain the importance of correctly restraining metal coils
- Describe the common cargo securing devices used in securing metal coils
- Explain how to correctly secure a single coil or row of metal coils with eyes vertical and eyes crosswise
- Describe the three methods of securing single coils in a lengthwise orientation
- Describe how to correctly secure a row of metal coils with eyes lengthwise
