This module describes how to calculate the amount of weight a vehicle combination can haul under federal regulations, and covers axle limits, tire weight ratings and calculating fuel weight. After completion, participants will be able to:
- Explain the purpose of the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Memo of Understanding (MoU)
- Describe the difference between various weight ratings and maximums on a vehicle
- Explain how trailers are connected and determine the weight ratings for connecting devices
- Describe how to determine the weight ratings of the tires on your vehicle
- Explain how to determine your fuel’s weight
